Join us for our 83rd annual Midsummer Festival, a weekend
celebration featuring three great bands, speakers, workshops,
vendors, excellent food, dancing, yoga, a midnight bonfire and fun!
Friday, June 22, 7:30 p.m. “The Cactus Blossoms”
Voted “Best Country Band” by City Pages in 2012, this alt country
Mpls. based band features pristine vocal harmonies with guitar,
fiddle, upright bass, pedal steel guitar and dobro.
Saturday June 23 1:00 p.m. Speakers Panel

Saturday, June 23, 7:30 p.m. “Conga Boys”
This duo includes lead singer Derrell Syria from “Conga Se Menne”
and Cliff Porter playing a Finnish Regae beat great for dancing!
Saturday, June 23, 9:00 p.m. “Mesaba Park Band”
Playing and calling dance tunes for all ages
Sunday, June 24, 10:30 a.m. Mesaba Park annual member meeting
Noon: Mojakka Lunch
Admission for the weekend: $15
Children under 12 admitted free.
(Meals, childcare, and t-shirts available at additional cost.)

wow…times change. i first came to the park in the spring of 1970. long ago. everyone spoke finnish at the board meeting and they translated for us. i learned to shoddish there. when my son jabula was born he became a member. he slept in his first teepee there, had his first fish soup when he was 18 months, his first solstice bonfire, his first swim in the lake, his first shoddish. i miss the place…i really do.

Yes, arts camp is BEFORE midsummer this year. June 20-23rd. I have no idea when sign-up will begin. I’ll try to find out and get back to you.

todays date is June14th 2012…just clarifing cuz dates on other this site look scewed up…with our Midsummer celabration coming up and this weekends workbee is important…we do understand that 2 weekends in a row is hard on people but in the spirit of cooperation lets see what we can do..
